Choosing a kitchen wrapper: what to look for
You only have your kitchen wrapped once — and you look at the result every day. So focus on four things: do you get a fixed price up front or a vague quote, which film is used and what guarantee comes with it, how is the surface prepared, and does the wrapper dare to say no if your kitchen isn't suitable. Anyone who answers those four clearly is usually a safe pair of hands. Below are seven concrete checkpoints, plus the red flags to watch for.

1. Fixed price, or a vague quote?
Ask how the price is built up. A good wrapper can explain what you pay per component: per front, per panel, per metre of plinth or worktop. Ask explicitly whether VAT and travel are included, and what happens if the job turns out harder than expected — will there be an extra invoice afterwards?

2. Which film does the wrapper use?
This is the question most people forget — and it's decisive. Professional interior film is something quite different from cheap self-adhesive film from a DIY store. Ask for the brand and the series. Professional brands include Cover Styl', 3M DI-NOC and Bodaq: wear-resistant, colourfast, and backed by an official manufacturer's guarantee.

3. What exactly does the guarantee cover?
"Guarantee" on its own means little — ask what it applies to. The film? The application? Both? A film with a ten-year manufacturer's guarantee doesn't help much if the wrapping work itself isn't covered.
We tie our guarantee to the chosen film: the same term — up to 10 years — also applies to our wrapping work, with normal use and per the manufacturer's maintenance conditions.
4. How is the surface prepared?
Film that lifts or bubbles too early is almost never a problem with the film itself — it's a problem with the preparation. So ask specifically: is the surface degreased? Are edges and corners treated separately? Is a primer used where needed?

5. Does the wrapper dare to say no?
This may be the best signal of craftsmanship there is. Not every kitchen is suitable: with moisture damage, swollen board or broken hinges, film solves nothing. A wrapper who always says yes is selling you something — one who explains when wrapping isn't a good idea is thinking with you.

6. Can you see photos of real finished work?
Ask for photos of completed projects — ideally with close-ups of edges, corners and joints. That's where craftsmanship shows, not in a styled interior shot. Ask about reviews from previous customers too.

7. Who are you actually dealing with?
Ask who does the work — the person you're speaking to, or a subcontractor you'll never meet? With larger outfits, communication sometimes runs through several links, and it becomes unclear who is responsible if something isn't right.

Red flags
Be alert if you come across this:
• No price up front, only "we'll see what it becomes".
• No brand name for the film, or just "professional film".
• A guarantee with no explanation of what it covers.
• Everything is possible. Even a kitchen with moisture damage? Then something is being sold to you.
• Cash without an invoice, or no clear company details.
• Not a single photo of real work, and no explanation of experience either.
